Pine Tree Jamboree, “the 1/2 fast, hot rod races,” is a period-correct, moving history exhibition celebrating flathead engines and the early days of drag racing, tracing its roots from the early teens to the early 50s! It is also a camping event where racing happens! It is as much about the people as about the cars and racing! Spectators are invited and encouraged to set up and camp alongside racers to enjoy a family campfire and great company among like-minded people.
Registration is open to any two- or four-wheeled flathead-powered vehicle from 1954 and earlier, including hot rods, trucks, dragsters, customs, race cars, and stock vehicles.

This is something that means a lot to us, and we’re excited to share it with the Pine Tree Jamboree community.
Eli has had a long-standing interest in steam trains since he was a young boy, with many personal visits to the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway over the years. Being able to bring this experience to Pine Tree Jamboree and share it with others feels especially meaningful.
Traditional Speed and Custom, LLC has chartered the WW&F Railway steam train for racers and their families on Friday morning, September 11th. This historic narrow gauge railway offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience a living piece of Maine history.
Racers and their families will have priority access to reserve seats on the train as they remain available. All are welcome to participate in the reliability run and spend time at the museum. More details will be shared as the event approaches.
Following an afternoon of racing, come together Friday evening, September 11, for a night of live music, laughter, and community put on by Owls Head Transportation Museum as part of Pine Tree Jamboree weekend.

Not everything at Pine Tree Jamboree is about going fast.
The Hot Rod Teeter Totter Challenge is all about balance, control, and a little bit of nerve. Drivers ease their cars onto the platform, finding that tipping point and holding it steady.
It’s simple, it’s fun, and it always draws a crowd.
Troy R. Bennett of The Mystery Jig tintypes makes authentic, 19th century-style photographs on on metal using the wet plate collodion photographic process, first invented in 1851. Each one of Bennett’s images is handmade, on the spot, and is one-of-a-kind work of art with no copy. He uses vintage camera equipment and lenses — and zero computers or AI — when crafting his pictures. Bennett’s tintypes are heirloom quality and will last for generations.
Everything you need for a comfortable and well-supported race weekend:
The Owls Head Transportation Museum offers gated overnight weekend parking for racers staying off-site. Advance notice is not required but is greatly appreciated to assist with planning.
Please indicate your needs during registration.
We’re excited to have a variety of food and refreshments available throughout the weekend.
Joe and his team at the Owls Head Transportation Museum café will be serving up classic comfort food, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, mac & cheese, and more, along with breakfast each morning.
Taco Joe food truck will also be on-site, serving up delicious, mouthwatering tacos, including carne asada, seasoned chicken, and slow-roasted pork carnitas, each prepared with authentic Mexican spices. Burritos and quesadillas will also be available.
Ice Cream by Karl Erickson
We’re excited to have OHTM Aircraft Conservator Karl Erickson joining us at Pine Tree Jamboree. Karl, a dedicated museum volunteer, will be bringing his one-of-a-kind steampunk ice cream maker, powered by a make-and-break engine, something you won’t want to miss.
Ice cream will be available by donation, with proceeds supporting the local food pantry.
R&D Dept. LLC
Our youngest entrepreneurs will be serving up cotton candy, sweet treats, and popcorn, a fun and inspiring part of the Pine Tree Jamboree weekend.
