Pine Tree Jamboree Schedule of Events

Pine Tree Jamboree is a four-day gathering built around vintage racing, community, and hands-on experience. From early arrivals and road tours to time trials, racing, and evening events, the schedule below outlines the flow of the weekend. We encourage you to take it all in, on and off the track.

Whether your racing a period correct flathead or not, everyone is welcome to join the reliability run to Mount Battie Auto Road, Camden Hills State Park either on your own or join the group at 2:30 on Thursday, September 10th. 

The English family has chartered the WW&F Railway steam train for racers and their families on Friday morning, September 11th

The Wiscasset, Waterville, and Farmington Railway Museum offers a unique opportunity to experience Maine’s historic two-foot narrow gauge railway — brought back to life by dedicated volunteers and preserved as a living piece of New England history.

After a full day of racing, come together Friday evening for a night of live music, laughter, and community at the Owls Head Transportation Museum as part of Pine Tree Jamboree weekend.

Kicking off the evening is live music from Clyde Bisbee & The Wheelhouse Revelers. The man, the myth, the legend: Clyde Bisbee, vintage musicologist and purveyor of fine and danceable swing jazz and western swing music. Along with his band, The Wheelhouse Revelers, Clyde performs popular songs from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s alongside a stable of era-inspired originals. You’ll hear familiar tunes and deep cuts from the likes of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, Bob Wills, Milton Brown, and Pokey LaFarge.

With instrumentation including upright bass, electric lap steel, banjo, ukulele, horns, and more, Clyde and the gang offer up a truly unique sound enjoyed by all ages and tastes. They can be found presenting their curated menagerie of rug-cutting music all over New England, from Portland, Maine swing dances to New Hampshire roadhouses and Boston pubs. It’s just good, clean, mood-modulating fun.

Following the music, the night continues with a full lineup of comedy.

Mitch Stinson is a former aircraft-carrier aviator for the United States Navy who, as a pilot, made over 200 carrier landings during his 10-year military career. Mitch has recently risen through the comedy ranks in the Northeast US by virtue of his original material that offers unique insight into the transition from hot-shot Navy pilot to everyday civilian life, resonating with comedy crowds everywhere.

Joining him is veteran comedian Tony V, a Boston-based comedian and character actor known for his extensive work in both television and film. On screen, he’s appeared in movies like The Town and The Heat, and has had roles in popular TV series including Seinfeld and Rescue Me. He recently performed at a sold-out Fenway Park with Bill Burr.

Headlining the night is Jimmy Dunn, a stand-up comic and actor, most recognized as “Moose” in the Paramount+ reboot of the legendary sitcom Frasier. He’s appeared on CONAN, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Comics Come Home with Denis Leary. He can be heard most Tuesdays in New England on the Greg and The Morning Buzz radio network.

Together, this lineup brings a mix of live music and seasoned comedy — the perfect way to come together off the track and celebrate the weekend.

Not everything at Pine Tree Jamboree is about going fast.

The Hot Rod Teeter Totter Challenge is all about balance, control, and a little bit of nerve. Drivers ease their cars onto the platform, finding that tipping point and holding it steady.

It’s simple, it’s fun, and it always draws a crowd.

Troy R. Bennett of The Mystery Jig tintypes makes authentic, 19th century-style photographs on on metal using the wet plate collodion photographic process, first invented in 1851. Each one of Bennett’s images is handmade, on the spot, and is one-of-a-kind work of art with no copy. He uses vintage camera equipment and lenses — and zero computers or AI — when crafting his pictures. Bennett’s tintypes are heirloom quality and will last for generations. 

All-Day Activities

While cars are running down the track, enjoy full access to the Owls Head Transportation Museum throughout the day, including interactive exhibits, vintage car rides, the Teeter-Totter Challenge, and the swap meet.

Bi-plane rides and The Mystery Jig tintype photography, offering authentic 19th-century–style portraits, will also be available for purchase.

Museum Experiences for Families

The museum will be fully open and active throughout the weekend, offering a variety of engaging opportunities for families and younger attendees.

The Science & Industry Center will be open with hands-on interactive experiences geared toward children through 8th grade. Families can explore Tinker’s Garage, test their skills on the indoor race track, and take part in rotating demonstrations throughout the event.

Demonstrations may include electricity, parachutes, stomp rockets, fabrication, and more — providing a fun and educational complement to the weekend’s racing activities.

We’re excited to have a variety of food and refreshments available throughout the weekend.

Joe and his team at the Owls Head Transportation Museum café will be serving up classic comfort food, including burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, mac & cheese, and more, along with breakfast each morning.

Taco Joe food truck will also be on-site, serving up delicious, mouthwatering tacos, including carne asada, seasoned chicken, and slow-roasted pork carnitas, each prepared with authentic Mexican spices. Burritos and quesadillas will also be available.

Ice Cream by Karl Erickson
We’re excited to have OHTM Aircraft Conservator Karl Erickson joining us at Pine Tree Jamboree. Karl, a dedicated museum volunteer, will be bringing his one-of-a-kind steampunk ice cream maker, powered by a make-and-break engine, something you won’t want to miss.

Ice cream will be available by donation, with proceeds supporting the local food pantry.
